Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences

Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences, Capital University of Somalia, home to a diverse range of departments dedicated to improving healthcare and promoting well-being. Our faculty comprises esteemed departments of Public Health, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Midwifery, General Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Science.

As the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Capital University of Somalia, I am honored to lead a community of passionate educators, researchers, and students focused on making a positive impact in the field of healthcare. Our faculty is committed to excellence in education, research, and service, and we strive to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and compassion needed to address the health challenges of our time.

Public Health: Our Department of Public Health is dedicated to preventing disease, promoting health, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities. We emphasize the importance of health promotion, disease prevention, and the development of effective policies and interventions to improve population health outcomes.

Nutrition & Dietetics: The Department of Human Nutrition & Dietetics is at the forefront of understanding the vital role of nutrition in human health. We educate our students on the principles of nutrition, dietetics, and food science, empowering them to become experts in promoting healthy eating habits and preventing nutrition-related diseases.

Midwifery: Our Midwifery Department is committed to training compassionate and skilled midwives who provide comprehensive care to women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. We emphasize the importance of evidence-based practice, respect for women’s choices, and the promotion of maternal and infant health.

General Nursing: The Department of General Nursing prepares students to become highly competent and compassionate nurses who deliver holistic care to individuals, families, and communities. We believe in the power of nursing to make a difference in people’s lives and focus on developing critical thinking, clinical skills, and ethical decision-making abilities in our students.

Medical Laboratory Science: Our Department of Medical Laboratory Science trains future professionals who play a crucial role in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases through laboratory testing and analysis. We provide our students with a solid foundation in laboratory techniques, research methodologies, and quality assurance, preparing them to work in a variety of healthcare settings.
