EU grant for groundbreaking project on migration and sustainable development

October 2024

Capital University of Somalia  is proud to announce the official launch of the “Exploring the Intersection of Migration and EU Sustainable Development: An Insight into the Relevance of Migration for the EU Agenda” (EIM-EUSDA) project, financed by the European Union under the Erasmus Programme – Jean Monnet Actions. This 3-year project is a major step forward for the university and Somalia, marking a significant achievement as part of a competitive application process with more than 1,000 submissions. Capital University is one of the less than 20% of institutions selected for financial support, making this a historic moment both for the university and for Somalia’s participation in the Erasmus Programme.

The EIM-EUSDA project aims to explore the interconnections between climate change, migration, and sustainable development, particularly focusing on the impact in Africa, and more specifically in Somalia. By delivering valuable insights and innovative solutions, the project will contribute to addressing the complex challenges posed by these global issues.
