Capital University of Somalia, in collaboration with the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), the Catholic University of East Africa (Kenya), and the University of Namibia, invites researchers, educators, policymakers, and development practitioners to participate in the International Conference on Nomadic and Alternative Education Approaches in Africa.
Scheduled to take place from November 3–6, 2026, the conference will adopt a hybrid format, allowing both physical and virtual participation across multiple locations including Kano (Nigeria), Mogadishu (Somalia), Nairobi (Kenya), and Windhoek (Namibia).
The theme of the conference is:
“Strengthening Inclusive and Flexible Education Pathways for Nomadic Pastoralists and Marginalized Learners in Africa.”
The conference aims to promote policy dialogue, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange on innovative education models that expand access to quality learning for hard-to-reach and underserved communities across the continent.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts aligned with key sub-themes, including policy frameworks, innovative delivery models, financing, teacher development, technology-enabled learning, and inclusive education systems.

The main text, like the author names used Times New Roman font, 14 point for the Author names and 12 point for the remainder of the abstract. Type or paste your text into this file, but remember to keep the page margins the same as is set here which is 2.5 cm all round. Paragraphs are justified (straight-edged) on both left and right.
Use single-line spacing and leave a line gap between paragraphs. This helps your text to be read easily. If you would like to insert a figure you can do so. Use the insert picture command and paste special as an enhanced metafile for ease of handling. If you want, you can set the text to flow around the figure, but do remember to include a figure caption.
The abstract deadline is 7th August 2026. There is no fee for submission of an abstract, but if you do not register and submit your abstract by the deadline of 7th August 2026, the abstract will not be reviewed.
If you need to receive a formal acceptance of your abstract in order to be funded to come to the conference, please write this in your e-mail when you submit your abstract and you will receive a prompt reply.
The organizers expect that there will be more abstracts submitted with preference for oral presentation than can be accommodated in the programme. They will inform those who submit abstracts for oral presentation whether the paper is scheduled for oral or poster presentation by 20th August 2026. Please note that ample time for poster discussion is built into the conference schedule.
The limit for your abstract is one page. Abstracts that do not meet these formatting requirements will be returned. The organizing committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for clarity or correctness of English, but will consult the author if any significant changes are needed.
